Asia International Breast Cancer Summit
The Third Asia International Breast Cancer Summit (AIBCS) was successfully held in Chengdu, China, August 21-13, 2009. The meeting was joinly hosted by the University of Colorado, Sichuan University Huaxi Hospital, USCACA and CACA. Professor Shou-Ching Tang, the President of USCACA chaired the conference together with the co-chair Professor Binghe Xu. Over 250 delegates and key opinion leaders from across Asia including Mainland China , Hong Kong , Taiwan , Korea and India , attended the interactive conference. In addition, practicing oncologists from USA also came. The meeting was widely praised as one of the best international breast cancer meetings in the region. Topics discussed at the meeting included screening, imaging, pathology, hormonal therapy, chemotherapy and surgery in breast cancer. More importantly, individualized tailored and targeted therapies were presented. An interactive case discussion session was well received by the audience. Many pharmaceutical companies held the satellite meeting, ad board and training meeting in conjunction with the conference. Presentations from the conference are being distributed to the attendees through the meeting organizer.
The proposed 4th AIBCS meeting will take place in the summer of 2010 on August 27-29 in Xian, China, in collaboration with University of Colorado , Xian Jiaotong University Medical School/4th Military Medical University, USCACA and CACA. Asia International Breast Cancer Summit helps to bring together breast cancer specialists from Asia and beyond to promote research, treatment, prevention of breast cancer in the region.
