A Delegation of USA Cancer Investigators Visited China
From June 16 to June 21, 2009, a delegation of cancer researchers from USA was invited to participate in varied scholastic activities in China. The group consisted of experts in the gastrointestinal cancer researchers from Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Dr. Janet Houghton, senior editor of Cancer Research), University of Kentucky Cancer Center (Dr. Mark Evers, director of cancer center), University of Illinois at Chicago (Dr. Pradip Raychaudhuri, expert in liver carcinogenesis, and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Dr. Keping Xie, and Dr. Dongfeng Tan-USCACA, molecular tumor pathology). They delivered lectures at the 3rd Gastrointestinal Oncology Symposium of CSCO (June 20 to 21), Shanghai. They gave talks at the Clinical Cancer Genomics Conference: Personalized Treatment of Gastrointestinal Cancer (June 18 to June 19) in Shanghai??s First People??s Hospital, Shanghai Jiaotong University. They presented their recent research data at the Sino-USA Forum of Multi-disciplinary Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment (June 16 to June 17) in Wuxi. The topics focused on translational research in colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer and liver cancer, and its role in diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of GI malignancies. The series of fruitful conferences and activities were organized by the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, Chinese Journal of Oncology and Chinese Association of Professionals in Science and Technology. They are jointly sponsored by Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, USCACA, Medical Association of Jiangsu, Fudan University Cancer Hospital, and Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Jiangsu Institute of Cancer Research.
