USCACA Co-sponsored the 2011 US-China Pharma Conference
The U.S.-CHINA PHARMA: Innovative Strategies and Partnership Models for R&D Success was held in Philadelphia on May 23-24th, 2011. Numerous senior pharmaceutical and biotech leaders from US and China shared their best practices and strategies in leveraging partnerships, alliances, collaborations, out-sourcing, and in-licensing to improve productivity and contain costs in R&D projects. Dr. Wei Zhou, MD, Ph.D, co-chair of Academic Relationship of USCACA, served as the Conference Co-Chair, and helped facilitate the presentations and discussions on May 24th.
In addition, USCACA organized a panel discussion on "How to Sustain Life Science Research in China¡ªStrengthen the Academic Collaboration between US and China", and invited three Key Opinion Leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges of academic collaborations between US and China, including
• David C. Christiani, MD, MPH, Elkan Blout Professor of Harvard School of Public Health; Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School; and Director, Harvard Education and Research Center for Occupational Safety and Health
• Qingyi Wei, MD, Ph.D, Professor of Epidemiology in the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
• George Wilding, MD, Professor and Director of the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center; Assistant Dean of Oncology and Head of the Hematology/Oncology Division
